Different Valentine's Day

Today was Valentine's Day, so I received a lot of chocolates and exchanged Valentine's cards with my group mates. Our group made sugar cookies in tutorial room, and put red frosting on the cookies. I mixed frosting and red coloring. The cookies changed into an awful color like blood. We enjoyed first our first American Valentina's day.

In Japan, usually only women give chocolates or presents to their boyfriends or friends on Valentine's Day and the boyfriends and friends return gifts on White Day (March 14). In contrast, in America, there is no White Day. Usually men send something to women. Two countries culture is different. This different is interesting to me.

Each country has its own Valentine's culture. Each culture has not only good points but also bad points. Today I experienced an American good Valentine's culture for the first time. I had a great time. Different culture is fun.
