Practice For Easter

On April 3, I decorated some boiled eggs in tutorial because April 8 is Easter Day. When I came back from commons, my RA was making preparation for a decoration time. At first, I didn't know what she was doing and saw her. First of all, she poured vinegar, hot water and coloring into a cup. Next, she drew a picture on the egg with crayons. After that, she put the egg in the cup for a minute. I thought it was simple. We tried it. It was difficult for me to draw a picture on the egg because eggs are oval-faced. Though I tried twice, I couldn't decorate any of the eggs well. The many kinds of colors were very beautiful. After tutorial, we ate a cake that she made the day before. The shape was rabbit and the taste was so sweet. I had a good time.

On April 4, when I came back from commons with my friends, my RA said to us “Close your eyes.” I didn't know what she was doing on that day, neither. We were taken to our room with my eyes closed. I was already excited at this point. While we were in our room, she hid the eggs that we decorated the day before. We looked for them with people who live on the other side in the dormitory. We ran around our dormitory. They were in restroom, closet and the back of clock. We played with the eggs twice. When we could find all eggs, we ate some eggs with a little salt and heard the RA on the other side talked about Easter story. It was very fun. I thought Easter Day is similar to Christmas Day because children get presents. I could learn bout Easter during these two days.

I'm going to decorate big egg with my host family when I go there next time. Many American people are looking forward to Easter Day and I am, too. My host mother said many people will come to her house on that day. I hope I have a good time with my host family.
