The Exciting Run!

My roommate and I met my host family last Saturday. I had missed them so I was happy to see them. First of all, we went to Starbucks and they bought a cup of coffee for us. It was rainy and a little cold so I ordered a cup of hot caramel macchiato. It was delicious. I like it very much. This Starbucks has a drive-through so we didn’t have to get out of the car. I have never seen such a Starbucks store in Japan. It was interesting for me.

After that we went to The America’s Kids Run because my 6-year-old host daughter competed in it. The America's Kids Run is a famous yearly event in Spokane lots of children run in it. On this day, the stadium was very big and many people were in there. I was surprised because I didn’t think such a big running event ever happened. Many children competed in the races. The races were divided by ages. My host daughter looked nervous and excited. Her friend who lives in Seattle came to Spokane to compete in the race so she also looked happy. When she stood at the starting line, I was very nervous. It was rainy all day but when she started, the rain stopped. We shouted her name. I was excited! Some time later, she came back to the stadium and reached the goal. She was very fast so my roommate and I were surprised. She was a good runner. She said she likes running. I enjoyed waching the race very much.

After the race my, host family took us back to MFWI. My host daughter said she didn’t want to drop us off. I felt sad because I didn’t want to leave them but they will come to MFWI to play with us. I can’t wait!!
