Global by Yukiko

The world becomes more global day by day. I can eat Japanese food or watch Japanese anime in America. I also can do that in Japan. It is pretty good, I think, but there is one problem. Things travel around the world too slowly. For example, my host family said, "We have the latest Harry Potter book. Do you want to read it?" I really wanted to but it was written in English. It would be good study for me, but it would be hard to understand. So I decided to read it when I go back to Japan. However, it will not be published yet in Japan. Maybe I have to wait till early autumn. Too late! So I want someone to make a more speedy world, but recently I was able to do something earlier than Japan. My RA bought the newest Disney DVD, "ENCHANTED," and I watched it in tutorial time before it is shown in Japan. There was one more thing I felt is "late". Since I arrived here I have gained weight so I exercise now with "Billy's Boot Camp". It became popular last year in Japan, but I heard it was popular about 5 years ago in America. Moreover, I saw it was sold for 9 dollars in the used department. To buy it new costs more than 100 dollars in Japan! It was shocking and I felt that the wall between nations was higher than before.
