American okayu

Have you ever eaten oatmeal? It has been served with us at Commons in February, and most students haven't ever finished it. There has been too much oatmeal they gave up in a trash box. I have already eaten it although I had a difficult time doing it. Such experience made MFWI students fear the oatmeal.A long time ago,in my elementary school, I read "Secret Garden" in Japanese, and there was oatmeal in this story. (The heroine hated it at first.) Then I longed to eat it. The dream came true... Some dreams must be still dream, I thought. How many children can eat oatmeal?

By the way, our Writing teacher is Maggie. She is kind and funny, but sometimes she is strict with us. One day, she brought something. It was oatmeal. She said if we spoke Japanese, she would make to eat it. As you know, in the classroom we have to speak only English, but sometimes some students couldn't keep it, so she did something about it. She made oatmeal. Students screamed! I heard her daughter suggested this punishment. At the end of the class, no one had the oatmeal punishment. I didn't know what happened to the bowl of oatmeal after the class. Did Maggie eat it?
