Wonderful experience!

I ate lunch at Commons with some Japanese-Americans on Sunday. I was looking forward to eating lunch with them, I thought I can speak Japanese with these Japanese-Americans. About fifty Japanese-Americans came to MFWI on this day. Kinya invited them. I was surprised that these are many old people in this group, but I didn't know much about Japanese-Americans, so I asked my friend to what a Japanese-American. She said that Japanese-American's ancestors came from America and they live in America now. I didn't understand regardless of her explanation.

I learned many things from them. There were many Japanese- American at Commons. It was surprised me. When I sat in my chair with some Japanese-Americans, they said me to say "Hello!". I asked them "Can you speak Japanese?" It was strange for me, because they look like a Japanese parson, but they couldn't speak Japanese! They spoke only English! However, their grandmother could speak Japanese, so I thought their grandparents came from Japan to America when they were young.

When I talked with Japanese-America, I heard sad story from them. It is that their grandparents came from Japan because of the war when they were young. That story made me sad. I never expected such a story. After that I understood what my friends told me about been in Japanese-American. I thought war is very sad thing. Eating lunch with these Japanese-Americans was a good experience. I want to meet them again☆
