Happy Hinamatsuri

Today is Hinamatsuri. This day is Doll's festival for girls in Japan. Japanese parents display a set of dolls for their daughters. They do it because they wish for helthy growth and happiness for their daughters. On this day, we eat traditional dishes like Chirashisusi and Hinaarare. Chirashisushi is a special sushi, and Hinaarare is like small rice crackers. I used to eat them with my family in Japan when I was young. Probably, other family do the same.

At Commons, we had a nice ceremony today. We sang Japanese songs by piano for the visitors. Children sang a song too, so we were very happy. After the ceremony, we ate lunch with the visitors. I ate lunch with two girls. They are 8 years old and they like to play basketball. We enjoyed talking very much during lunch time. After lunch, we made origami. We made a crane and balloon. we had a nice time.

Hinamatsuri is a Japanese tradition and a Japanese culture. It's a special day for Japanese girls. I was happy to participate in this ceremony in America. We can see the set of dolls only this day once a years. It's very interesting. I want to treasure the culture and tradition. I had a very nice Hinamatsuri!
