Food culture by Saki

Today, I ate a special meal at Commons, but I had a little heartburn. I think that food culture is important to us. At first, when I came to the United States, I got used to the American food. I felt the difference of food culture. American food portions are so big. I can never eat all of it. I think that American food is dangerous for my health. First, American food has a super size, especially junk food. It seems that it is twice the size of large one. In addition, it uses a lot of oils. Fried foods are popular in the U.S.. They eat cereal, oatmeal and drink for breakfast. They prefer the light meal in the morning, but they eat junk food at lunch, such as pizza, hamburgers and sandwiches. At night, they eat meat, such as steak and rib. Their food has a lot of calories. For that reason, more than half of the Americans are worried about their figures. I hear that Japanese food is getting more and more popular in the United States. Japanese people believe that quality is more important than quantity. Therefore, Japanese food is very healthy and delicious, besides just a good amount. Also, Japanese people are conscious of the seasons. They dish up the meal beautifully. It means that they care about beautiful importance of the food. We should be proud of this food culture. Everyone enjoys not only the flavors, but the appearance pf Japanese food. In my opinion, American people should exercise more and more.
