My Special American Dormitory Party

I had an American home party at my dormitory on Thursday. This was my first time to attend an American party so I was excited. We learned about American table manner in tutorial before we had the party. They are very different from Japanese so I was confused a little. Then, we decided what to cook. We chose lasagna, boiled salad, onion soup and mice ice cream for dinner.

On Tuesday, we cooked the dinner after a grammar class. We had to cook many dishes, clean our tutorial room and set the table so we were very very busy. I have never cooked lasagna before, so I was interested in learning how to cook it. I enjoyed cooking and preparing for the party with my group members. My RA's friends came to our house while we were baking breads with cheese. We floated some breads in the onion soup. The lasagna looked great so our dinner was perfect.

I introduced myself to the guests. Then, our party started. I enjoyed eating delicious dishes and talking to the guests. The party was very different from our usual dinner, for example, we spoke English , we had American guests and our dinner was home made. I was happy that our American guests ate with relish. Guests were excited when we served them mice ice cream as a dessert because shape of the ice cream was like a mouse!! After the dinner, we played Japanese game together. It was very fun. Our party flashed by. We started to wash our dishes after our guests went back to their house. Some of them helped us to clean so we could clean very quickly.

I had a really good time with our guests and I also learned about American table manners. It was very interesting for me and good experience. I shall never forget this party and I want to have an American style party with my friends after I go back to Japan.
