Busy Monday

On Monday, I visited Witworth college in Conversation class. there is a Japanese class in the college and we went there to talk to students in the class. My group prepared some papers to teach them some Japanese and our own photos to show them. I talked to them in some English and some Japanese. They could speak some easy sentences in Japanese. I thought that Americans hear me like their speaking in Japanese if I speak English. I noticed that to master languages and to teach languages are quite difficult, because conversation is needed.

After visiting them, I went straight to a school which is for immigrants to master English. I am studying about American ancestors in American studies class, so I interviewed an immigrant about why she came to the U.S. The person I interviewed came from Laos to marry her husband. While interviewing her, I thought she sometimes feels same thing as I do. She is missing her country, because her parents still live there, but she likes life in the U.S. because she lives with her husband. I sometimes miss my family and my friends, but I also enjoy life in Spokane because I came here to do what I want to do. It was interesting for me to talk to her.

I talked to many different people this Sunday. They had their own personality and lives. It was valuable experience to talk and understand other people. I want to talk more people and learn something from them.
