On the third day of Japan Week, I made a small doll made of Japanese paper and a toothpick at JCC. It was a little difficult because it was a kind of fine work. I had to concentrate a lot because I have never made one. I am going to remember how to make it. There were many American people at JCC. I enjoyed talking with them and making it. I am going to give it my host family when I see them next time. I hope that they will like it and they will hang it on the wall in their house. I also want to make it for my pen pal.
During family festival, there were many fascinating booths. For example, there were booths about calligraphy, New Year's cards, traditional toys, Japanese tea ceremony and colorings. I took part in the calligraphy booth in the first half. I taught and wrote people's name in Japanese for everyone who came. After my work, I looked around at some other booths. I enjoyed them. I'm happy that these Americans were interested in Japan through Japan Week. It was good to take part in such activities because not only could we introduce Japanese tradition to people but also we could see and talk with many people. I hope that the Americans who came to see this Japanese tradition enjoyed it.
