Fabulous Japanweek!

I took part in Bon Dance as a volunteer on April 19th downtown. Japan Week started from April 19th, so it was like an opening ceremony. Actually, I didn't know about Japan Week very much, and I also didn't know that Japan Week is a famous event in Spokane. I want to know more about Japan Week, and I should know about Japan Week as a Japanese. That's why I decided to take part in Bon Dance.

When we arrived downtown at the danced place. I was surprised, because there are a lot of chairs, big stereos, big posters and so on. I had a different image the Bon Dance place by seen that. I had a image of small place, so I became increasingly aroused and nervous. The audience ca growing a little by little. When I looked at audience, I noticed a few Japanese. They were Gonzaga University students. They set up a refreshment stand at Japanese booth. Of course they can speak English fluently, so I respect them. This place was really interesting to me.

Finally, Japan Week started! I noticed one culture observation there. At the beginning of the opening ceremony, I heard American national anthem. All of Americans stood up with their hand on their chest at the time. I was surprised, because in our case even singing the national anthem is depends on us. I felt Americans have patriotism. Anyway, our time had come to start. We could dance in front of a lot of Americans. It was very fabulous! It was a good opportunity to teach Bon Dance to an American audience. They tried to do the dance. I was very happy.

I was very glad to took part in Bon Dance as a volunteer, because I could know about Japan Week more, I could notice a culture observation, and above all, I love America and Japan more than before.
