Great Homestay

I had a wonderful time with my host family last weekend. On March 21st, my host father picked me and my friend up at the Cannon house and we went to their house. After we arrived there and discharged our baggage from his car, we went to the Spokane airport because a girl came back to Spokane. The girl is one of overseas students and she had been to Las Vegas because she traveled there alone. My host family lives with two overseas students and both of them are girls. One of them is from Brazil and the other is from Poland. They go to high school in Spokane. I was surprised that both girls had been to Las Vegas or various countries by themselves because they are only sixteen years old. In Japan, most mothers will oppose sending their daughter to Las Vegas alone without parents so we talked about it while we came back to host family’s house.

I also had a nice day on the second day. My host mother took us to some shops which we had never been to by car. In the first shop, there were many American souvenirs, for example, blessed bean soup, corn bread, brownie and so on. I bought two boxes of brownies and a box of oatmeal. After we came home, my host family made hamburgers and they were very delicious so I ate a lot. We made Easter eggs on the evening and hid them for a grandson who stayed at the night at their house. All of these were really fun.

I had a great time at various places on Easter too. In the morning, the grandson was looking for the eggs when I got up and he could find all eggs easily. After that, we went to church and I was surprised at the church because it was beautiful and big. I was very happy to go there because I had never entered a church before. I could talk with many people during this home stay. What a good family they are! I want to stay with my host family again.
