Wonderful Play

On February 26th, I went to the theater in writing class. It took about forty minutes to get there by bus. I was looking forward to going to the theater so I was aching to watch the play. When I arrived at the theater, many children were entering the theater. The children seemed to be very excited and I also was very excited. On going into the theater, I found the cast’s photos of the play at the entrance. The stage was big and wonderful so I liked the theater very much in a matter of seconds.

At ten o’clock, the room in the theater went dark and the play began. The name of the play was “The Little Mermaid” and this is one of my favorite stories so I was very happy. Some mermaids appeared on the stage and Ariel came there soon. Their costumes were very cute and picturesque. Their voices were also beautiful. I was so moved that I got goose bumps! Many characters appeared on the stage, such as Sebastian, octopus, sailors and so on. I like Ariel but I like Sebastian very much because Sebastian is interesting and kind. When Ariel was depressed because her father scolded her, the Sebastian cheered her. The Sebastian sometimes do what Ariel doesn't like but the Sebastian always thinks about her and help her in the background so I like the Sebastian.

What a wonderful play it was! This play made me happy because every child played his or her own role very well. My favorite scene was the last scene. I especially like the scene that everyone sang the song. When the play ended, I was surprised at one thing. In this play, all the children and adult stood up and applauded the performers. I think it is very nice to stand up and applaud performers because these actions or words told performers thank you and the performers are very happy to see or hear these things. I had a very good time there so I thought I want to watch the play again.
