Happy Easter by Keiko.K
March 23rd was Easter Day , so we went to church with our RA to celebrate it. We hadn't known about Easter well before, so today was the good opportunity to learn "Easter". The symbols of Easter are commonly colored eggs, which mean new life, and bunnies, which also bring beautiful colored eggs. In the church , many people celebrated Easter, and sang about Jesus. Before I came to the church, I imagined the church's songs would be solemn, but I felt there were many casual songs. My RA is a Christian who goes to church every week and studies. She often told us about Easter and Christian songs, but it was a little difficult for us to understand the meaning of songs. I noticed the different religions. Of course there are many kinds of religions and people in the world. We are free to have strong beliefs, but we have to understand the differences . We can enjoy Easter celebration such as finding plastic eggs and just say "Happy Easter!" I'm not a Christian, but I study English and American culture. There are many holidays in America, so we have a lot of chances to learn American culture and history. I want to be a broadminded person who can understand some differences of culture in the world. It must be important for us to live happily. I really enjoyed "Easter" very much.
