Bon dance by Etsuko

I practiced the Bon dance on Friday, because I have never done the Bon dance and I'm interested in Japanese dance. In order to practice the dance, I brought my yukata from Japan. Yukatas are very traditional clothes in Japan. Many people wear a yukata to summer festivals. However, to put on the yukata by oneself is very difficult. I was always helped by my mother or grandmother. I have to learn how to put on the yukata. After I put it on, the practice of the Bon dance began. I was very nervous because for the first time I practiced the Bon dance. However, it was very simple and easy for me, since the choreography repeats itself. After I memorized four dances, I made a circle and danced with a teacher, some RAs, and many students. It was really fun. However, I forgot the choreography quickly, so I practiced the dances and how to put on the yukata in my dorm with my friends. Next week, Iwill show American people those dances. I'll teach American people the Bon dance and I'll dance with them during Japan week. I'm looking forward to it.
