Special Sunrise School Visit

We are very happy today because we went to the elementary school. I like children so I was looking forward to seeing them. Akiko and I made some plans and we bought origami, kendama, photograph and any more .When I arrived at the Sunrise elementary school, I thought it was different from Japanese schools. Japanese schools are square and closed but American schools are open. However American children are the same as Japanese children. They are very energetic and active.

When we come in the classroom, I could see children’s character a little. There were twenty-six children. They were very cute. We had a group and began talking. I thought American names were difficult and my English was very poor. I was very surprised that my pronunciation couldn’t get through. I said “What’s your hobby?” but they couldn’t understand “hobby”. I was very shocked! However they heard my poor English carefully. They are very wise. They told about their characterization and we did too.

First, we did origami. I thought did origami was very easy for them but it was different. They are ten years old yet so they do it first time. I worried about whether they could do it but it was different. They could do it! We enjoyed it and I gave my origami crab to them. They looked happy. We looked around the school. There were many reports. I was very surprised. Children must win something. The children guided us kindly and honestly. Then we ate lunch together. I can’t eat cheese so I was in trouble because a sandwich has cheese. Then Alex helped me. He took my cheese. I was very happy. When I went back to school, I was very sad. I wanted to more talk time but time is over. We took some photographs which was very important for me. Thank you for make this opportunity. I enjoyed it very much.
