My Other Nice Family

Last weekend, I went on a homestay. First, my host father picked my roommate and me up at Cannon house at 4:00 p.m. I and my roommate were tense and it was really silent in the car from Cannon to their house. When I arrived at the host family's house, I was surprised, because the house was really big and beautiful, and the house looks new. I was also surprised when I entered the house, because there ware very big windows with beautiful view, and there was a billiards table. And each room had its own bathroom. The house was really lovely and wide, and I was excited. That night, we played billiard. It was my first time, so I was not a good player, but it was very interesting.

The next day, we went to a volunteer party to eat lunch. It was at a very small market. If we buy something there, the money is sent to poor women. I thought volunteering was really nice. The party is held once a year, so I was very lucky, because I could go there. After lunch, we went downtown. We went shopping and we took a ride on a gondora and looff carousel at River front Park. It was really nice view from the gondola, we could see Spokane River close up. The looff carousel was interesting. I was really excited there. After dinner, my roommate and I introduced our host family to our own family and hometown and Japan. I forgot to bring my pictures, but I had some my family's picture in my camera and cell phone. I showed them and gave them some souvenirs. They were very interested in them. I gave them some Japanese toy; Otedama and Kendama. They looked like the enjoyed playing with them and I felt so happy. Afterwards, we chatted about many things. When I went to the house, I could not speak and I did not ask them many questions, because I was a little nervous and I do not know how to ask in English. But I could speak to them gradually. As I could not speak well, I could communicate by making gestures.

On the last day, when we parted my host family, I felt really sad, but I felt happy also, because during host family match up, my host mother hugged me and my host father did not hug, but then my host father hugged me also. I thought I could fraternize with my host family more. My host family was tremendously good people. They were so kind and interesting. I was fortunate to meet them. I appreciate their concern. My homestay was nice and wonderful.
