Last Saturday, I went to Northtown for orientation with my groupmates. We left the school at 11:00 and rode on the city bus. It was our first time to ride on the city bus, so we were very excited. I talked to my friends on the bus and wondered what Americans here think about us. On the bus, one of the Americans talked to me and my friend. The man was very friendly. I was happy because he asked us about Japan. I think he was interested in Japan. I felt I want to talk more to other Americans and tell them about Japan. But his speaking was a little fast for me and it was hard to understand what he is saying. I really thought I need to study English more.
Arriving at the Northtown, our RA told us some information and we made some small groups. Then we walked around the mall. There were a lot of interesting shops in the mall. We decided to try some ice cream before we went there, so, of course, we ate some ice cream. It was cheap and very big. I tried my favorite flavor chocolate. We bought different flavors and shared with each other. One of my frineds likes punk fashion, so we went to that kind of store together. The man sales clerks at that store had make up on their faces. I really felt everyone has their own character here in America, and America has freedom.
At about 2:30, we started walking to catch the bus. I was wearing high heels and it made me so tired. I should have worn sneakers. It was really a fun time for me to go to Northtown. I want to go there again. And I will go there this Saturday.
